Mudslingers is Dave Helm (ukulele), Rob Crisp (keys) and myself, Phil Russell (acoustic guitar). We play self-penned songs that often start from a pottery theme. As pottery often mirrors life in general — you have to get started, you need patience, things go wrong, it’s good to share with people — we hope our songs have wider appeal.
Our aim is primarily to have fun creating music together — but if we can add a little something to a raku firing, a pottery fair, or a gallery opening along the way, so much the better. If you want us to play at your event, get in touch.
“I go down the cellar for a meeting with my fate
I don’t know what the hell the Gods will bring
I made a really pretty thing then put it in the fire
I was hoping that the Devil was my friend”
Lyric from “Spinning Around” by Phil Russell
